Your card, held at the end of a star.
A wand-shaped card holder for the payments that ask you to reach further than you would like — the drive-thru window, the self-checkout, the meter you have to lean out of the car for. Slide your card into the head, hold the handle, tap. There is no battery inside and nothing to pair.
01 / Why it exists
Most payments are fine. The awkward ones are not.
The terminal sits a little too far back — behind glass, under a screen, at the bottom of a drive-thru ledge. So you stretch. Your nails arrive before the card does. Someone is waiting behind you, and the whole thing takes two seconds longer than it should.
The wand adds the distance your arm is missing. The head does the reaching; your hand stays where it is comfortable.
02 / The motion
One movement, from pocket to beep.
The card drops into the slot cut straight through the head, front face out, so the contactless chip sits exactly where the reader expects to find it. You hold the handle at the base — the part shaped for a fist rather than a fingertip — and bring the head to the terminal the way you would bring the card.
The beep comes from the reader, not from the wand. Nothing inside it is listening.
03 / Where it helps
Four places, most weeks.
The pattern is always the same. The reader is fixed in place and you are not, so your card has to travel further than your hand comfortably wants to go. The wand takes that last stretch out of the equation, and it does it without you having to lean, stretch or let go of anything.
04 / The proportions
Long enough to matter, short enough to carry.
36 cm clears a window ledge and a shop counter without turning into a stick you have to think about. The head is wide enough that the card sits centred inside it rather than dangling off the end.
At 70 g it weighs less than most phones. It goes in a tote, a glovebox, a coat pocket. It does not go in a wallet, and it was never meant to.
Please note: Styles, sizes, and product specifications may vary by design.
05 / How it is made
Printed layer by layer, then finished by hand.
Each wand is 3D printed in PLA — a plant-based plastic rather than an oil one — then hand-finished so the bevels on the head come out crisp instead of soft. That is why the edges catch the light the way they do.
PLA is rigid. It holds a card straight for years and does not flex in your hand when you press it against a reader. Keep it out of a hot car and it will outlast the card inside it.
06 / The difference
The card still pays. Only the reach changes.
Nothing about the payment itself is different — same card, same reader, same beep. What changes is how far your hand has to travel, and how much of your body has to follow it.
One tap, one step forward
A small thing that makes a queue feel shorter.
Most of what makes a checkout annoying is not the paying. It is the reaching, the leaning, the half second of not quite getting there. Give your hand a little more room and the whole thing becomes one tap and a step forward.
Keep it in your bag. You will notice it most on the days you forget it.
